In a little while..
Jaded Tenorio
Pen and Ink sketch on Paper
(Original copy no longer available)

*This was my 2005-ish sketch version of an old fella that caught my attention from some magazine I forget the name of.  I was drawn to the old man who looks so forlorn with only his lonesome cigar to keep him company.  And I wonder if he comes crawling back to his home, will there be...anybody?

Colored Pencils on Paper
(original hard copy not available; can be printed & framed if interested)

*This was one of my Thesis plates back in college for a book illustration design called 'Love, loved, loving!' by James Dillet Freeman. After my thesis defense, one of the Professors who sat in as one of the judges, asked me if she can take home this 10" x 14" drawing. Regretfully, I said, "Yes". When I come to think of it now, I guess I'm just glad I passed with flying colors. ^_^v

2014 Art Exhibit: Dreams & Whatnots

Dreams and Whatnots by Jaded Tenorio
An art exhibit [May 01-30, 2014]

“When your life is so, so dreary, dream…” – Billy Corgan

I’ve got a pocketful of dreams, just like any other dreamer does. My current artworks though, does not contain dreamy, bold, spontaneous strokes and are the opposite of being ‘free-form’ and abstract in style.  My illustrations, instead, hope to capture the beauty and emotions in the everyday “slice of life” in a semi-photorealistic approach.

My technique was instigated by my former College Thesis Professor who momentarily sidetracked my attempts at using other mediums of art and shaped my love for capturing beauty in the mundane via color pencil sketches.

I take delight in painstakingly drawing the intricate and oftentimes, repetitive details by using lines and cross-hatch method.  I enjoy layering the vivid colors to bring out the light, shadows and textures of the subject matters: mostly, still life and portraitures.

I dream to someday be able to create art which represents that of the post- impressionists who use strong, loose strokes of vibrant colors and semi-representation of their subject matters.  I have always been fond of the bold colors and dramatic brush strokes conveying strong emotions of Vincent Van Gogh’s creations.  And although I have an infinitely long way to go to even come close to resembling that of Van Gogh’s style, I am inspired by his words: “I am seeking, I am striving. I am in it with all my heart”.

About: Jaded

jadeirisann@yahoo.com
Jade Iris Ann Tenorio or Jaded, has long graduated from CFAD, majoring in Advertising Arts in UST a decade and a half ago. She briefly worked in several private businesses as a graphic artist before jumping on the BPO bandwagon industry until early March of this year, 2014.

She held her first art exhibit (all thanks to Jane & Watashi's help) and called it "Dreams & Whatnots" at Conspiracy Garden Cafe along Visayas Avenue which runs from May 03-30, 2014.  This is also the first in a long time since she picked up her pencils & drew again. She vows to continue to draw and paint as much as she can even when she starts working on a new job.

As a young gal, Jaded wanted to become a paperback writer before wishing to be a graphic artist in Pixar. As she grew older, she fervently dreams of sidelining (with hardly any talent, unfortunately) as a rock star.

Jaded is a dreamer, but she firmly believes, (just like John Lennon), that she's not the only one.  And although to some, she may come off as shy at times, Jaded is ultimately—aside from her rekindled love for the arts—all about peace, love and rock 'n roll.
